11:10 AM — Six Hawaiian couples have filed a lawsuit against the state demanding full equality. Three weeks ago, governor Linda Lingle vetoed a civil partnerships bill and apparently compared it to condoning incest.

5:06 PM — A 27-year-old man had to be treated in hospital for a fractured jaw after being punched in a homophobic attack in Bootle, Merseyside. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Marsh Lane on June 21st.

3:28 PM — Nepal's only out gay MP has said that his country will hold its first Pride march this year. Sunil Pant told AFP that he hopes 3,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people will join the event, to be held on August 25th in the capital Kathmandu.

1:55 PM — A Malaysian trans woman who had a civil partnership with a British man has won her fight to stay in the UK. Fatine Young, 36, who was born male, feared she would be arrested and jailed if returned to her home country, which would consider her relationship to be homosexual.

5:28 PM — A counselling student has filed a lawsuit against her college claiming that it tried to make her change her anti-gay beliefs. Jennifer Keeton, a 24-year-old graduate student of Augusta State University, is a Christian and believes homosexuality is immoral and a "lifestyle choice".
