I’d say something like “Dogs are mans’ best friend!”, but he is probably referring to the fact that some communities in Africa still sacrifice and/or eat dogs…
ZoeK, the eating of dogs is no more prevalent in Africa than it is in Britain. Mugabe’s reference is simply stupid – no need to fan the culture wars in an attempt to understand him. (PS to Ian: Zim is in southern Africa, not central!)
