Liverpool’s first Pride event will have a cabaret stage with acts such as burlesque, singing, drag kings and queens and a Liza Minelli tribute.

The rainbow circus-themed festival, to be held on August 7th and 8th, is Liverpool’s first official Pride event.

Acts on the Cabaret Stage will including international burlesque star Mille Dollar and her Blue Martini burlesque show, Queer as Talent runner up dancer Ian Roughley, local poet Gerry Potter and performances from local drag queens Lavinia, Belinda Scandal and Lady Sian.

Drag king Valentino King will also join the stage with a live performance.

Classics fans can expect entertainment from local crooner Alan Cross, while tenor Steve MacFarlane will perform a 20-minute set inspired by Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald.

West End star Emma Dears will be channelling Liza Minelli as she previews her brand new musical production Judy and Liza, performing some of Minnelli’s biggest hits including ‘Cabaret’ and ‘Maybe This Time.’

Finally, the Beatelles will blur the gender lines with an all-girl tribute act to Liverpool’s The Beatles and London-based duo Detox Cute and the Beauty Junkies are set to play camp pop tunes.

Organisers released the line-up for the Acoustic Stage earlier this month.
