  1. Can any readers of this blog speak Polari? I would be interested to know.

  2. Fantabulosa how bona to vada a Polari documentary! I must zoosh my riah, powder my eek, polish my pots and get on the palare pipe, wonder if there is any handbag in it?

  3. BONA!!
It’s a shame Barry Took still wasn’t with us, as the writer of the “Julian & Sandy” sketches, I’m sure he could have helped.

I think Polari is one of those long lost elements of a gay scene long gone, that should still be kept alive. I know words like ‘Troll’, ‘Chicken’ ‘Mince’ and a few others still survive.

  4. Wonderful to see it recognised, became fascinated with it after hearing the Julian and Sandy sketches, which for the author of this article’s benefit I might add are from the radio show entitled Round the HORNE, not HOME, named after the main man of the show Kenneth Horne.

And well done Danny above. :D
