It doesn’t really tell us much about the welcome gays and lesbians can expect to receive on Ibiza though, does it? I can’t imagine hotel owners or bar and restaurant staff batting an eyelid at same sex couples turning up, but it might be nice to make that clear. Or more importantly, what kind of trouble you might expect – if any – from Essex ex-pats or their equivalents.

Is there something I missed? Did gay travellers ever stop going to Ibiza? Perhaps the article should just be “Sam and Ben go to Ibiza and have a nice time”.

Can we drop the “Essex slags” as well please? Soho fags can be just as annoying when out in packs, off their faces and in a foreign clime.

loved your article, thank you – it’s every bit the wonderful and varied Ibiza that I know. Not been for two years and missing it! next year…

if there are any doubt, Ibiza (Balearic islands in general), as all main gay touristic places of spain (Sitges, Gran Canaria, Torremolinos, Benidorm), are ABSOLUTELY Gayfriendly, more than any place you dreamed of.

As Raffaela CarrĂ¡ said “Para hacer bien el amor hay que venir al sur” ;)

  4. Ibiza has not changed much in the past several decades, the party culture exists as before and the openess among minds of everyone remains. it’s still a heaven as it was before.
