PinkNews.co.uk has finally won approval from Apple for our iPhone application.

The free app, which is available at the App store and can also be downloaded from iTunes, downloads the 40 latest stories in one go for quick and easy access to our content.

Opening the app will automatically download the stories for offline reading – perfect for catching up with PinkNews.co.uk when on the tube.

Due to legal reasons, comments are not accessible on the app, although readers can click the button on the top right of the story to view it in a browser and comment in the usual way.

PinkNews.co.uk founder and publisher Benjamin Cohen said: “I’m delighted that at almost five years into the life of PinkNews.co.uk, we’ve had to respond to the insatiable demand of our readers to access PinkNews.co.uk content anywhere.

“While I’ve been testing the app over the past week, particularly on the tube, I’ve been able to read literally every story published. It’s allowed me to rediscover the depth of content on what was just five years ago a little idea for a gay media venture in the back of my head.”

PinkNews.co.uk editor Jessica Geen said: “Our research shows that more LGBT people use an iPhone than any other model of phone. We want to make our content more accessible and fit in to modern lives.

“We’re happy that after months of planning and negotiations we’ve finally gone on a new platform in time for London Pride and just ahead of our fifth birthday.

“The app works on the iPad too but we hope to improve how it performs on the device. We are in talks for apps for other mobile devices.”

To access the app from an iPhone, search for PinkNews.co.uk. Please note that there are other paid for apps with similar names but without access to all of our content. PinkNews.co.uk is a free to download and use app.
