The best place to do Gay Pride in London would not be in Soho, but in the neo-conservative multi-faith/atheist suburbs in Zones 2,3,4,5 etc. Having a Gay Pride in Central London is tokenism.
Gerry’s got a point there. Pride is no longer political, but just an excuse to get pissed-up, blow whistles and get a shag.
A gay march through Bethnal Green or Walthamstow would be far more effective. In the days of Brixton and Victoria Park, I think it was actually worth it.
