Gay rights charity Stonewall has announced a partnership with Lovebox festival.

The three-day event, scheduled to begin Friday July 17th in Victoria Park, London, features performances from artists such as Grace Jones, Hot Chip and Peaches.

The festival is to donate £5 from every Sunday ticket to Stonewall’s Education for All campaign if tickets are booked through the charity’s website.

The Sunday date is a new addition to the festival and is billed as a “freewheeling, groundbreaking, no-holds-barred, non stop polysexual party, pulling together elements of the very best gay clubs, fiercest underground parties, cutting edge fashion, hottest emergent artists”.

Stonewall deputy fundraising director Michaela Greene said: “Stonewall is proud to partner with Lovebox for their new special gay-friendly themed day on Sunday July 18th. Stonewall will have a stall throughout the festival so do pop by and say hi to us if you’re going on the Friday or Saturday, too.”

Lovebox promoter James Baille said: “The Lovebox team passionately believes in celebrating human diversity in all its forms. Our events are about creating a place where everyone feels included. We believe that in Stonewall we’ve found a partner who shares that passion and belief.”

Gay-themed DJ sets on the Sunday include Horse Meat Disco, Trailer Trash and Salvation, while performance artist Jonny Woo will compere the day.

Proceeds from the ticket donation and collection on the day will go towards supporting Stonewall’s Education for All campaign which combats homophobic bullying in schools.
