The British embassy in Moscow has been silent – no support for these brave people. An attitude continued from that of the past government and giving the lie to the claims that they’ll support LGBT people internationally.

Live blog from Moscow Gay Pride http://www.ukgaynews.org.uk/Archive/10/May/2701.htm

  2. “We know victory and freedom will come. The European Court will overturn this ban very soon.”

Could someone please that moron that Russia is not part of Europe or the EU, and that they can’t wield their bureaucratic crap wherever they like. Russia, like many other Eastern bloc countries is still acutely homophobic, and it will take years to change, but change it will. Everything comes in time.

  3. keep your nose out of what does not concern you Peter. Thats why you got a smack along with Right Said Fred. Countries can have what law they want and run their country how they want to.

Concentrate on getting a REAL job instead of leeching off people, and sticking your nose into other countries business.

  4. Thank you Peter Tatchell. The mayor of Moscow, just like the president of Malawi, is a criminal because he has failed to implement the Human Rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

As for the Russian LGBT heritage, there is no more brilliant example than Rudolf Nureyev whose magnificence is reflected in his tombstone: http://www.nureyev.org/rudolf-nureyev-grave/

I only found out about this recently, but, the ECHR doesn’t actually have anything to do with the EU. The ECHR is affiliated with the Council of Europe, which includes not only the EU states, but also pretty much the rest of Europe, including Russia (part of its landmass is in Europe, so it gets to join in).

So, thankfully, the ECHR will be able to wield its “bureaucratic crap”. It’ll just take some time. Probably quite a lot of time.

I suppose you think the Holocaust was justified, then? Bloody Allies, interfering with the will of the German people. Who are we to tell anyone who they can or can’t discriminate against?

Strange priorities you have. When a majority of people discriminate against a minority, you’re delighted. When a group of countries tries to put pressure on another country, you’re horrified. I’m afraid I just don’t get that.

Tell you what, why don’t you go ask Russian LGBTs if they’d like Tatchell to keep his nose out? I’m pretty sure they’d agree he’s doing a fantastic and courageous job.

  6. Moogie,

you are absolutely right! Russian gays, except deluded Nikolai Alekseev, really doesn’t wanted that neo-english guy, Peter Tatchell, in Russia. Peter just not understand that Alekseev manipulating with foreigners like Peter Tatchell, Volkner Beck and others to stage something impressive, the “international political support” for himself. Period!

Currently Alekseev is very mad on all countries of European Union and Council of Europe for their refusal use their embassies for Alekseev’s PR.

What I don’t understand why PETER and other stupid Western gays allow to be used by such political manipulator, like N. Alekseev, in order to attract some attention in the Western countries (which already know what sort cheap clown Alekseev is).

But here something more then then this – now Alekseev accusing all European countries as “criminals” who supporting “criminal” Moscow Mayor… That’s really crazy in my view.

As for comment made by “Jean-Paul” (“Bentam”), I’d like to say that this canadian cheap gay knows nothing about Russia and its laws, but made his slander on Mr. Luzhkov by calling this elder man as a criminal… What a shame! They will not forget such insult on their political leader, I am sure of that.

I am sure also, if Russian authorities wanted, they can arrest Peter Tatchell for his slander on Mayor of Moscow. Peter doing the most stupid thing in his life by messing with Russian criminal law in relation to slander ( any slander is a criminal offense in Russian Federation).

  7. Nice try, monkeychips, but no cigar !

  8. OK, Jean-Paul (or whoever you are), let’s get serious.

Tell me, what human rights of homosexual men violated in Russia, besides right on demostration of some gays like Alekseev?

Currently, in Russia, no gay person executed for his homosexuality. No gay person imprisoned in Russia for his homosexuality. No police invaded gay homes and arrested by Russian police for being a homosexual. No gay person subjected to torture. No gay person excluded in Russia from military service for his homosexuality. No gay person in Russia fired from any governmental job for his homosexuality. No gay person deprived of any use of internet or press in Russia. No gay person deprived of right to leave Russia and return to his country. Russia has no objection for any gay refugee to immigrate. No gay person deprived of his viting rights in Russia. No gay person deprived rights to establish any gay or any other business in Russia. No gay person deprived his right to buy the land and build his own house. No gay of Russia deprived right to keep bank accounts anywhere in the world or buy any property in any country. No gay person deprived his right to live together with another gay person. There many gay estabishments in Russia – gay bars, gay saunas, gay bookstores, etc. Currently, gay bookstore located near the Moscow Mayor’s office and no police even harassed gays there. That’s all facts.

I do agree that Mayor of Moscow violating rights of some gays on freedom assumbly. Well, there is the reason for it – strong opposition of citizens of his city who does not want to see homosexuals with bare buttocks walking on the Red Square, via the center of Moscow. People doesn’t want their children to see such deprivity and most idiotic challenges to public morality. Russian cities still have more decency then any major Western city in the world. That’s the fact.

Russia has great deal of gay human rights in comparison to most countries in the world, even more then in the United States of America.

  9. In my view, the Amnisty International is hypocritical organization. They never voiced out for human rights of homosexual people in the world when they started their organization. That’s the fact. Does they ever applogized for their treason of gay human rights in the past times? They don’t. Shame on them!

You’re a fool. Your comment is about as stupefyingly ridiculous and homophobic as the “eat da poo poo” guy from Uganda.

Yeah, I didn’t see a whole lot of bare buttocks there, did you?

Oh, and weren’t you just saying what a lovely place Russia is for gay people? I’m sorry, were the violent protesters in that video just kidding around? Well, they sure were very convincing.

You must be pretty annoyed with me right now. How dare I insult your glorious motherland! It’s unthinkable, comrade, I know. Loving your rabid whitewashing for Comrade Luzhkov, by the way. Do you work in his PR department? …Are you actually him? If so, you’re a worthless, hateful, disgusting little piece of filth, Comrade Luvkok. Oh, boo-hoo. Let me guess, now you’re going to get the KGB to haul me off to some secret gulag to be re-united with my fellow sodomites. But you’re not homophobic! No! Of course not! It’s just that the proletariat have the right not to put up with us living if that bothers them. I understand completely!
