Declassified government files from early 1970s reveal gay issues in civil service 6
6:06 PM — A government file dating from 1974 has been released by the National Archives in Kew, south-west London. Titled "Guidance to Departments About the Employment of Homosexuals in the Public Service" it includes minutes from a 1974 meeting reviewing the rules on promoting "practising homosexuals" to senior civil service posts.
LGBT filter added to Expedia’s online booking options 6
5:18 PM — Britain's premier online travel website expedia.co.uk have added an LGBT search filter to their hotel options in order to assist gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans people in finding welcoming and safe places to stay when planning holidays at home and abroad.

London Borough of Camden has new gay mayor and mayoress 8
2:52 PM — Councillor Jonathan Simpson, Camden borough's first openly gay mayor, was last night confirmed in his role at a ceremony in Camden Town Hall. In his new position, Councillor Simpson pledged to retain the "rock 'n' roll" spirit of Camden, a major landmark on Britain's musical map.
