Hmmm… Not impressed. Maybe they should scale back on the festivities and remember what it’s really about: encouraging local people to band together and be be confident in their sexuality, not chasing corporate coffers to create another Woodstock.

  2. Gay Prides are renowned for going bust. it seems LGBT people spend all their time infighting and squabbling and nothing ever gets done. The words “Piss-up” and “Brewery” spring to mind.

At least here they are trying to get it right, and using the grant to subsidise, not pay for the event. the problem is most gay people are so damn tight-fisted when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets, the chances are the whole thing will flop. I’m sure all the queens will quite easily blow fifty quid in an afternoon in the beer tent, but will begrudge spending a fiver to get in. As usual, the selfish nature of queens rises to the surface and they all want something for nothing.

at £3/4 plus a can its high time the commercial concerns cut into their huge profits and sponsored the events. We all know how much money these events bring into town and city centers .
