    This is a real demotion.

Who are the in the closet Tories? I googled “Jeremy Hunt gay” (who sets off my gaydar) but all I got was porn!

On his US blog, Andrew Sullivan suggested there were several ministers he knew who were in a “glass closet”.

The other point is that Alan Duncan have never given the slightest hint of being interested in helping poor people. Why on earth is he at International Development?

  5. They gave Alan Duncan Clare Short’s old job? What has he done to upset them? Oh yeah….expenses. Perhaps he could give the money to the poor? Oh wait, he’s tory…

Jeremy Hunt is married too, according to the VERY small print. His wife’s name is Lucia and all claims that she was a thai ladyboy called Luke is extremely libellous.

  6. Note to Pink News:

i think you’ll find he was the first openly gay TORY MP, not the first openly gay MP. The other parties were rather further ahead. Of course.

  7. MattB, you naughty boy! Jeremy Hunt did go to boarding school though so you never know. I wonder if he has a brother called Mike?

Think of all those “rations” Alan Duncan can now give out

Alan Duncan can be my “Internal Development Minister” any time he wants. You can’t beat a silver fox to teach the rest of us new tricks.

  9. Alan Duncan has exactly the right credentials for International (anti)Development in the Conservative party.

He enjoys good personal wealth but seeks to deny this to others.

He has all be benefits of a society liberalised by Labour but seeks to advance the cause of far right homophobic parties in Poland. So that the highly vulnerable LGBT people in Poland are denied the freedoms he enjoys.

Alan Duncan finds his income at the House of Commons to be akin to living on rations. So, no doubt this will give him great empathy with the people in the world who live in great poverty.

That this appointment is no doubt less than Alan Duncan would have liked will bring him no tears as, after all, he is utterly loyal to his leader voicing no objection as his leader appoints right wing homophobes to all the powerful positions in the cabinet.

Being given this position is probably posh-speak for Bugger Off

  11. @ Patrick James – Labour has liberalised society for all wealthy white gay men whoever they vote for. For everyone else not so much and things are worse if you happen to be older, poor and LGBT. Labour’s quangos, left-leaning gay charities and organisations have encouraged the development of a gay scene/community that is is exclusionary, unequal and money-driven like never before.

Gs – you don’t have any grasp of reality
besides either labour is too liberal or too right-wing
