  1. Kind of makes you wonder how such a case would be handled in the UK!
Ninety -nine years!Hmmm, here it’d be 99 days,a slap on the wrist and an admonishment to ‘not do it again’!It really is time the judicial system woke up to the inadequecies in the sentencing laws in Britain.Condolences to Mr Mercado’s family and friends.

  2. you can’t just send people to jail for life, so they get free health, care food etc and they still don’t care about what they did these people need to be reabiltated not shoved in a room for live, let them work out why its wrong what they should do to slove there issues etc, prision does not work, its not a deturent and should nto be it should just help them become better people.

I distinctly remember reading about every detail of this horrendous crime at the time.

‘Pedro Julio Serrano, a spokesman for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, said: “Nothing is going to bring Jorge Steven back, but today, a bit of justice was done.”‘

That’s right, nothing will bring Jorge back, but justice was done.

They don’t get much gayer than him, still he didn’t deserve it. Despite be lured with the promise of drugs and sex no one deserves that.
