Stonewall Equality Walk raises record-breaking £55,000 2
7:55 PM — Stonewall's seventh annual Brighton Equality Walk, held last weekend, raised a record-breaking £55,000 for the charity's work. The weather did not put off the 350 people who joined the 10K event, which was opened by L Word actress and screenwriter Guinevere Turner and Rikki Beadle-Blair, the director of FIT, Stonewall’s anti-bullying film for schools.

3:47 PM — Gay rights activist and author Antony Grey has died aged 82. Mr Grey, born Anthony Edgar Gartside Wright, had been ill for several years with leukaemia and died at King Edward VII Hospital in London on Friday April 30th.
BBC criticised for ‘violent’ homophobic attack scenes in EastEnders 15
3:33 PM — The BBC has received around 40 complaints over a homophobic attack scene in EastEnders. In the episode, broadcast last Thursday, gay character Christian Clarke, played by John Partridge, was attacked in his flat after his affair with Muslim character Syed Masood was revealed.

10:40 AM — A Christian street preacher was arrested for allegedly saying that homosexuality is a "sin" that goes against God. Dale McAlpine, 42, was arrested in Workington, Cumbria, on April 20th. He had been standing on a stepladder delivering a sermon.
