  1. President Obama continues to repeat that he agrees with repealing DADT. However he will only commit to a timeline of “when the time is right”.

No wonder our US friends are still pushing him to be more specific…

  2. He deserves to be heckled.

He has failed miserably thus far to honour his pre-election pledges.

It’s good for him to realise at first hand that his stalling tactics are inadequate and that he will lose the LGBT vote unless he honours his commitments.

  3. Obama? Heckled? Heaven forefend! Lefties, Abi, etc, come to the Messiah’s aid, he shalt not be heckled.

Remember it was that other demi-god Bill Clinton who signed the defence of Marriage Act in America making marriage between man and woman only a federal law.

So where are these lefties on this post who normally have such a lot to say about Tories?

Of course if we wait for the BBC to report anything about this (Messiah heckled) we will be waiting a long, long time

  4. Only america’s rabid right wing ultra conservatives are pushing obama as totally left. He is a puppet and wall street tool. He was never and never will be a true progressive.

Although no future president could ever be – with more than half the nation zombified on meds, obese and on their sofas being force fed fox news.

  5. “So where are these lefties on this post who normally have such a lot to say about Tories? ”

Well quite clearly those Tory bigots are far worse than Obama.

At least Obama is not advocating that business owners be entitled to break the law in the provision of goods and services.

The grotesque bigot Chris Grayling (the Shadow Home Secretary) is proposing such lawbreaking.

And the fact that Grayling has not been fired, indicates Tory endorsement of homophobic bigotry.

  6. Your calling yourself Julian today troll and not SimonQQ!

  7. Judge him by what he does and not what he says. FAIL! Judge him by what he Says and C- (Against gay marriage, Against full equality ….

Obama is Republican in Democratic clothing. Of 571 actions taken by his administration, only 7 differ from GW Bush. In action, Obama is GW. In rhetoric he is the second comming of GH Bush.

Do you think our Corptopracy would allow anything else. Money speaks all other must remain silent.

  8. well if Obama is really just like bush you’re totally screwed. I think you’re racists queens who use any excuse.

  9. If Obama is really another Republican like George W. Bush then people like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are having a serious identity crisis.

  10. O’Bama has only been in office 16 months and if he wasn’t black there wouldn’t be a peep out of these racist bigots.
Give the man a fcuking chance.. 99% of his time since he took office has been taken up by his efforts to get a health bil through . A bill that was fought against tooth and nail by the homophobic racist Republican party, Americas tories. Then he also had to deal with the economic crises, a legacy of the moronic Republicans as well.
They also fought him tooth and nail over his efforts to sort that almighty mess out.
Those in this country intending to vote for salesman callmedaves racist homophobic tories should have a care.
The tories are the british branch of The American moronic republican party. Callmedave is Sarah Palin in a suit. Exactly the same .Hes all fopr “family” ie anti gay, all for huntin and shootin ie the NRA, against any form of welfare ie anti health bill, low taxes for the rich, Anti immigrant ie get rid of the rag heads and Muslims, completely in thrall to the xtians…..heck id better stop there,. Im begining to think the Grand Ole party has moved lock stock and two smokin barrels over here. They are completely the same and we all seen what Douba done to the world never mind the US.

  11. Douba sb Dobua =George W Bush to the less informed among you………

  12. Much better video of the event:-

You say “only 16 months” like it is a short thing.
    Are you American?
If not, allow me to educate everyone:
At the second year into the presidency, the president will NEVER do anything “radical”. He is too concerned about getting voted back in. A puppet to gain votes. If he was moral and commited to our rights, he would; alas he doesn’t even support marriage equality. Plus, apologies for my stereotyping, but he goes to church.

Also, it is not racist to criticize ones government.
Stop using fear tactics (E.G. telling someone they are racist) to try and stop the necessary freethinking in a democracy.
The greatest threat to democracy is silence, in which the government then has free reign to abuse its power against the people.

“Give the man a fcuking chance.. 99% of his time since he took office has been taken up by his efforts to get a health bil through.” -Patrick

He has passed other bills in this time. Why do you think it took the extra amount of long time? Presidents can’t one task.
My guess is that you’re not American, just as I am not British, so you only heard about our more publicized controversy of a law here.

“Then he also had to deal with the economic crises, a legacy of the moronic Republicans as well.” -Patrick

Democrats currently have majority. He didn’t have to deal with them. They (congress) could of passed bills, but instead are pansies unable to buckle down and take slag. They tried to make the Republicans happy, even though the Republicans told them straight up “We’ll kill the bill”. The president can’t make bills, only suggest, sign or veto them.

“The tories are the british branch of The American moronic republican party.” -Patrick

    P.S.
What came first, the chicken or the egg?
Or in this case, Britain or the USA.
Looking up your curious last comment there, our bad parties seem to have formed at similar time. The republican party here formed in opposition to slavery expansion, which dates it to 1854. Reading about the tory party, your conversatives, it existed earlier- the current form of it is thought to have evolved however in the early 19th century. So we’re about even on the horrid party level of evolution. No exports or imports, just the same ugly humanity that has lived everywhere.

I’m sorry I seem rather rude here, but this attitude barely makes me feel as though the efforts of those featured in this article (Dan Choi, ect.) are being honored. Rather you are distorting facts in order to distract from our effort, LGBT Americans, in order to make us all seem racist (or obese or ect.) in order to paint us as non-human.
The same tactic people have used for ages to deny high-risk groups, women, blacks, hispanics, asians, women, and even us LGBT, their right to have political say to determine our own fair laws.
