Chaz Bono ‘very happy’ with gender reassignment

Cher’s son Chaz Bono has said he is “very happy” with his transition so far.

Bono, 41, lived as a lesbian until last year, when he began transitioning.

He attended the GLAAD awards in California on Saturday with his girlfriend Jennifer Elia.

He told Access Hollywood: “March 20th was a year since I started taking testosterone.”

Although he said he was still finishing his transition, he said: “Oh my god. I’m very happy, feel really good.”

Bono, who has been an LGBT rights activist for years, began transitioning in the public eye.

“I’ve had really good positive reactions from people,” he said. “I hoped people were starting to progress and move along and understand more, and so far my experience has shown that.”
