  1. Of all the possible quotes in the Bible, why focus on that particular one?

  2. Sounds like he doesn’t want to keep his fence… someone painted ‘Not In My Name’ on a fence round here once – nice rural village, this is – and within a week the fence was smashed down. Sadly, it’ll just cement his view…

  3. Well if you really want to proclaim your ignorance – paint your fence. My understanding is the this verse, in the words of the original language, refers to something more equivalent to gang-rape, and if so, then it has absolutely nothing to do with gay love!

  4. Parading one’s ignorance is a funny way to go about showing you don’t want to be spiteful isn’t it?

  5. Is it me, or do we just not want to bring up the fact that if he had painted his fence with “N**gers go home!” we would have fined him, jailed him, and forced him to repaint the fence. (and yes, I used asterisks so I wouldn’t get into trouble myself.) Why is it okay to bash gay people and we claim “free speech” but to bash other minorities carries stiff penalties?

  6. Just be thankful we live in Europe; the liberal democracies of northern Europe preferably.

  7. How about “TO BE CHRISTIAN – TERMINALLY DELUDED AND FEEBLE-MINDED”?

Whenever I see those religious fools ranting on about being saved, I think of the Comic-book store owner in ‘The Simpsons’ that steps out just as an atomic bomb goes off, looks at the camera and says “Oh dear, I’ve wasted my life…”

  8. Free speech sure is a bitch. But a necessary bitch. Like Noam Chomsky once said: “If we don’t believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all.” We just have to learn how to ignore those we despise.

  9. Religions and cults must be divorced from the state. The state must have the upper hand. The state must be able to deem what is lawful and what is not. The right to be entirely free to do whatever is described by sets of religious or cultist beliefs must be curtailed.

Religionists in the UK are currently feeling victimised by the state. They are massing behind Tories of the likes of Norman Tebbit, Christopher Grayling, William Hague, Theresa May, and Iain Duncan-Smith. Christians led by Carey are pushing for the “right” to over-rule state law according to religious belief.

    Do NOT vote Tory.

  10. I want a Jesus is a paedophile sign for my fence ;)

  11. Hope someone smashes his windows.

  12. “They’re not my words, they’re the Lord’s”

Now I recall Iris Robinson saying almost those same words…so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s creating a smokescreen for himself while shagging the local butcher’s son on the quiet.

  13. Religionist 21 Apr 2010, 1:24am

I am glad to read comments of homosexual idiots who hate religious people. I wouldn’t be not sorry for such idiots if people would kill them. God commanded it, people comply with it. That’s normal.

In America nobody can remove fence with antigay sign. If any of you would try, you will be killed. That’s cool.

It will be that way always.

    Perfect.

  14. Gay people can carry guns too Religionist!

    Just a thought ;)

  15. Religionist: “If any of you would try, you will be killed. That’s cool.”

So that’s God’s word is it?
I thought God’s first commandment was “Thou shalt not kill”
Or is that not in your version of the Bible?
Fvcking hypocrites, the lot of you.

  16. The homophobes are entrenching themselves in the last bastion. But even there, they’ll be chased.

  17. What do you expect from backward, dumbed down indoctrinated bible bashing yanks. The only think you need to get into college in the states is a f***ing pencil. The call it the American dream becuse you have to be asleep to believe it.
Garunteed this guy is a closet, otherwise, why oh why would you take such a specific part of a bible and plaster it on your fence other than as a smokescreen. Having Biblical absurdities pumped into your skull from the time your santa clause eligable + low intelligence = AMERICANS.

  20. “Of all the possible quotes in the Bible, why focus on that particular one?”

These religious types focus on certain quotes because they feel they need justifcation for there behaviour. Religious texts are always quoted from people who actually have the fear of thinking for themselves. I think people thinking for themselves they see as the biggest threat. They preach they’re all about peace and love then spew this crap showing and proving that there sole intent is violent and hateful.

Humanity will Never progress whilst these books are used as weapons for arguements to impose violence on others.

Individually or in wars these books are to blame. I’m all for having rules in life but surely most of the rules are basic common sense.

One of my favourite quotes comes from Author Samuel Butler:-

“All animals, except man, know that the principal business of life is to enjoy it.”

I guess it’s a quote many in religion would freak out on.

  21. I think I’ll paint my fence with some of the same “truths”:-

“Lev. 11:10:- Eating shellfish = DEATH”

“Exodus 35:2:- Working on Sunday = DEATH”

“Lev. 19:27:- Cutting ones hair = DEATH”

    “Lev.24:10-16:- Wearing distasteful cotton/polyester blend = DEATH”

“Lev.25:44:- Refusing to own slaves = DEATH”

Yeah, some smashing “truths” there in the bible…. the man would be demonstrating more truth is he wrote “I’m a fcuking idiot” on his fence instead.

  22. Squidgy: “One of my favourite quotes comes from Author Samuel Butler:- “All animals, except man, know that the principal business of life is to enjoy it.”

Hmm. There’s an interesting fact that came up when Darwin finally got to release “The Origin of the Species”, he was concerned that his book would be considered heresy, and the church would attack his theories. As it happened, they apparently didn’t really bother because many of them had guessed it anyway, and they could still drop it into the religious picture by saying “Evolution was God’s work”. However, the thing that freaked many people out, not just the religious ones was the simple fact that nature is incredibly cruel and unforgiving. Most animals struggle to stay alive most of the time, and it really is death at every turn.
Somehow I think your author got it very wrong to assume animals have “fun”. There is only one animal that genuinely has the ability to enjoy life, and that’s us. Whether we do or not though, is entirely another matter.

  23. Man could also be said to be incredibly cruel and unforgiving. Man seems to want to be distructive but like other living beings not all of them are the same. You point is certainly true for some animals, human or otherwise but most animals do make the most of that time they do have. It’s most certainly my plan.

  24. I think Chris Trumbull’s neighbours should all be encouraged to paint ‘Chris Trubull is a thick religious lunatic with a highly selective view of ancient texts’ on their fences. If they don’t have enough space or paint, they could always stop before ‘with’.

  25. How about painting:

HITLER WAS DOING GOD’S WORK AT AUSCHWITZ, TREBLINKA and SORBIBOR: Matthew 27:25

…on the fence next door. (After all Christian homophobia is the new Christian anti-semitism)

  26. I want a Jesus is a paedophile sign for my fence ;)

    Dito =]

  27. If I lived anywhere near that town I would destroy that fence and then find other ways to destroy his pathetic little life as, if he is such a firm believer in all that religion mumbo-jumbo he must have read the ‘eye for an eye’ thing.
Remember folks: if somebody is intent on ruining somebody’s life the only way to truly stop them is with fire, and lots of it!

  28. In response to the question about the first of the commandments, Jesus says: “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

    Mk 12:29-31; cf. Deut 6:4-5; Lev 19:18; Mt 22:34-40; Lk 10:25-28.

nada! Paint the above onto the fence. So he has something more educational to read.

  29. Anyone who paints hate slogans on their fence should be committed to hospital on account of clearly being screwed in the head.

  30. The people who make these statements are NOT Christians, Christianity is about love and forgiveness. These sort of people who latch onto one tiny part of the bible in the old testament where all sorts of nonsense is written obviously have some kind of severe mental disorder.

  31. Jean-Paul Bentham 21 Apr 2010, 7:51pm

    Homophobia is a mental illness.

Children are not born hating homosexuals.

  32. and how many of you venting off here have bothered to find out this man’s name and address and to write to HIM to tell HIM what you feel?

it’s no good just ranting away on here to each other!

    give HIM hell!

  33. “The people who make these statements are NOT Christians, Christianity is about love and forgiveness. These sort of people who latch onto one tiny part of the bible in the old testament where all sorts of nonsense is written obviously have some kind of severe mental disorder”

My thoughts exactly. I’d also add that someone who focusses on such a tiny part of the Bible is obviously suffering from internalised homophobia.

I love the way ‘christians’ aren’t content with living their own lives as they see fit, they have to bully others. They can’t have a very strong faith if they have to affirm it by trying to make others believe the same as them. Rather immature, in my opinion.

  34. As someone said on another thread American and Thinker are strangers to each other nowadays, which is sad. Most of the posters posting from the US to this site seem to have just about enough brains to keep them breathing. If there has been any intelligent posts from that quarter i’ve missed them. The less than intelligent xtian crowd seem to be taking over in what was once a great country. They voted Twice for George W. Bush fcol, well once anyway, he cheated his way in first time and they didnt even notice or was it didnt care.
