I feel for Brendan Courtney growing up gay in Ireland, he doesn’t deserve it, nor thus anyone, though with Graham Norton I’m willing to make an exception. The screamy vile queen.

I grew up gay in Ireland. While it wasn’t especially easy, I doubt very much it was any more difficult than growing up gay in Britain under the shadow of the disgusting Section 28. It was Brendan Courtney describes – lonely and isolating.

Brendan Courtney is describing the homophobic abuse he suffered at school. Well by all accounts homophobic bullying would appear to be endemic in secondary schools regardless of where you are from.
