  1. Better than nowt eh David? Comes to something when the scraps from the table are welcomed by exiting parties.

  2. The idea of being welcomed by David Miliband is enough to scare them back again!

When Anastasia Beaumont-Bott took the first step to leave the Conservative party over its failure to modernise with respect to LGBT issues I commented that there must be many other LGBT Conservatives that feel just like her.

Now that David Heathcote has also left the Conservative party this is further evidence to support my belief that many of these LGBT Conservatives are decent people who have simply been conned by David Cameron.

In fact the Conservative party, right up until the election was called, was acting in full 100% homophobic gear, even in the negotiations in the Westminster parliamentary wash-up period.

For me the most appalling activity of the Conservative party has been their support of the homophobic Polish Law and Justice party in the European Parliament.

I think that it is possible for LGBT Conservative party members to regain their dignity now and do something very positive for the LGBT community by making their objections to the Conservative party known by leaving the party.

If they do this before the general election they will show that they do not support the homophobic activities of the Conservative party and that they will not let their sexuality be used as a mask for the Conservative party’s activities.

  4. vulpus_rex 14 Apr 2010, 5:42pm

From everything I’ve read about Ms Bott she will feel more than at home in the Party of Damien McBride and the masters of two faced dishonesty. They are welcome to her.

@2 – I disagree. David Milliband might be a stupid liebour stooge, but he’s a total fox.

I might almost feel sorry for him when he loses his job in 22 days time.

  5. Its a matter of Dignity and Integrity. If every you have either or both, then you wont have remained in the Conservative Party after they linked to the Law & Justice Party alone. But even at that, we saw their party conference and how much stage the LGBT group got… and on goes the matters. But then the latest Chris Grayling’s revelation, confirms it all that the LGBT issues are a taboo to the Conservative central machine. Infact, with the launch of their manifesto, we have now seen that not at any time did they discuss issues relating to LGBT people.

It was in January that Mr. Cameron was forced to agree that same-sex couples in CP would be added to his ‘bribery’ tax incentives (£3.50/week for that matter).

So if you are an LGBTory member and still there, you are just betraying yourself. You might as well join the BNP for their straight-hating so you know what you are fighting… although I dont suppose LGBTory members are any fighters at all. LGBTLabour are making huge impact and are always sort to drive issues affecting the gay community.

Whether Ms Bott is a good or bad girl, she has for this, done the right thing by leaving the camouflage the Tories used her and are using the others for.

  6. Well done, Anastasia Beaumont-Bott and David Heathcote! Good for you!

Now, Matthew Sephton, et al., come on, you TOO can be as brave! We will applaud you for it.

Come on, you’ve read through the Tory manifesto, Matthew. You’re heart has sunk when you’ve noted the absence of support for you and lesbian members of the Tory part, so come on, be brave, go to Labour, the Lib-Dems, or The Greens! But don’t, for goodness’ sake, just stay PUT out of some silly sense of pride!

Show what a man you are, Matthew. Come on! Astound everybody!

  7. Sorry, how many times did you say you’ve been through the Tory manifesto since yesterday, Vulpus?

    What was that?

    Twenty-one times?

    Wow!

What? And just about to start from the beginning again!

Now that’s fortitude if ever I’ve seen it.

Sorry, what was that? Oh, and with your big magnifying-glass too!

Hmmm. And still find nothing about fighting for real gay and lesbian equality? Not even the little print?

So, ummm, maybe thinking, that maybe the Tory party isn’t really quite 100% behind you then, eh, Vulpus?

Maybe thinking they could just tickle you in the back with little knife, hmmm?

Maybe time for you to swallow your pride too, then?

    What say, old boy?

  8. Good on them for proving to all the LGBT People that the Tory party have not changed and its all been a con just like most of us thought all along I seriously hope that the 4 million gay voters now turn away from the Tory party and vote elsewhere instead

So then Mr cameron the mask as finally slipped and now you have lost The LGBT vote serves you and your party right

  9. Sister Mary clarence 14 Apr 2010, 7:58pm

Ciaran, so a couple of people with axes to grind are grinding them and therefore the Tories have lost the gay vote. I think you’re still find that the Tories are well ahead and I’m damned sure the majority of gay people fully intend to still vote Tory.

I think its unlikely that Cameron is going to lose too much (any at all in fact) sleep over a couple of defections.

  10. latest polls give tories only 6% advantage, not even enough to be biggest party in parliament, and there is still another 3 weeeks to go. and you have to be delusional if you think that majority of gay people will vote cons, based on what? they not even that sound on economy, and dont you even start me on their gay agenda

  11. Mumbo Jumbo 14 Apr 2010, 8:22pm

“…so a couple of people with axes to grind are grinding them…”

    Sounds like you and vermin_slacks.

“I’m damned sure the majority of gay people fully intend to still vote Tory.”

Having previously claimed that parties organised by the Conservative are like gay matchmaking events we have already seen that you are a fantasist.

“I think its unlikely that Cameron is going to lose too much (any at all in fact) sleep over a couple of defections.”

Quite right. The Conservatives could not care less about LGBT people. They are too busy sucking up to the bigots who comment on the Mail and Telegraph websites.

  12. I wish he were labour leader and not Gordon Brown. Oh well next time.
And I’m sure Sister Mary#9 the majority of gay men and women will NOT be voting tory, just the odd idiot who doesn’t care about gay rights like you obviously don’t

  13. vulpus_rex 14 Apr 2010, 9:16pm

Gene @7 I don’t care that there is not so much as a full stop devoted to LGBT issues in the Tory manifesto.

I think Liebour are a terrible government, lead by a bully who is unfit for office and surrounded by scum such as the likes of Ed Balls.

There are many, many reasons beyond the above to give them the kicking at the election that they so richly deserve but the big picture is that Liebour don’t just harm the lives of gay people, they harm the lives of everyone – I’m going to vote in what I believe to be the interests of everyone – Tory.

  14. Vulpus – tory isn’t in my best interest and there’s others who’ll agree so don’t presume you know what’s best for others, the tories are still very homophobic even though they claim otherwise
Sister Mary Clarence – “appeal to majority” is not convincing, didn’t you ever get asked if someone you know jumps off a cliff would you? would you if a majority did it?

  15. Sister Mary clarence 14 Apr 2010, 9:53pm

Sorry folks, thought we’d already done this one, the polls are showing the Tories have got the gay vote. The last bastion of the gay Labour voting seems to be on here, where a self interested few are still are going to put their own narrow interests above those of the rest of the country.

  16. The Tory party are the do NOTHING party why on earth do people want to reverse back to a party that failed 13 years ago that failed in thr 1990s and and failed in the late 80s?

How can genuine LGBT voters actually vote for a party that has NO LGBT polices?

The Tory party are just plain bigots in suits they have not changed and they never will

Ok so if the odd LGBT voter intends to vote Tory can you explain to us why mask face David cameron hasn`t sacked chris greyling over his pure fascist right wing anti gay remarks over the Easter weekend less than two weeks ago

and why hasn`t the Tory party got any pledges on LGBT rights?

To be honest the best of the 3 is the Lib dems at least they have set out proper detailed plans for LGBT rights more than Labour have

The Tory party are just living in the past as always no change there then

They seem to think old school style 1950s politics will somehow fix 21st century Britains probelms they fail to grasp that britain has moved on in the past 60 years and they are seriously 60 years past their sell by date despite what they claim in public

Look we shouldn`t have to hear them banging on and on about how much they have changed we just need to take a good look for ourselves and see if they have changed by their actions and from what I have seen and heard so far they HAVE NOT CHANGED one bit

  17. Sister Mary clarence —

Wrong they have not got the gay vote only very deluded people like yourself would ever dream of voting Tory

Whats most likey going to happen is its going to be a hung parlament anyway which means it`ll almost certainly lead to a Lib dem/ Labour pact which will be much better than any tory government and much better than any Labour government on its own

This Election is for us all and no longer will LGBT people be pushed at the back

  18. Im glad that we have devolved government in the north of Ireland, because if i had to live under the Law and Justice racist homophobic Tory mob, I think I would emigrate to Cuba or North Korea somewhere.

However I really don’t think the people of Britain will be stupid enough to elect this crowd of morons, so I won’t book my ticket just yet.
Quite apart from the whole GLB issue, they are totally without any realistic manifesto.
Anyone who watched the moronic Willie Hague trying to explain his way through the most idiotic plans for American style elected police “sheriffs” last night would shudder with dread.
They have totally lost it and are trying so hard to come up with something, anything that will appeal to the High Tory right. I really do dread what will happen if they are elected.
They are the same corrupt, inept crowd of upper class twits that brought Britain to its knees in the 80s and 90s under mad Maggie and gray John with 17.5% interest rates and 6 million on the dole. Social housing stock sold off to give the top earners tax breaks while sending letters to old age pensioners telling them they will be taking a penny off their pensions. The letters cost 20 p each to send out and could have added 3or 4p to the pension instead. They sq1uandered the £billions from the North sea oil, They sold off the national gas system and on and on ad nauseum.
The country is on its knees now as it is, and if this crowd get elected it will be 10 times worse than Greece, because the UK wont have the Euro to call on for a bail out, so the IMF will be telling you all how much Spam you will be allowed per day.
The hardest days of WW2 will seem like a cakewalk in comparison. The winter of Discontent will become Five years of Social War.
Thousands died needlessly in Ireland because of their racist abstinence, and it would still be going on if they were still in power.
They could have put on a bus from the House of Commons to Wands worth there were so many of them going to jail.
Gordon Brown may not be the sharpest tack in the box , but in comparison to Callmedave the Salesman he is up there with Einstein.
Think on and think hard before you throw away the UK and end up with Albania Major.

  19. #18 c: Racist obstinance…………..

  20. Johan Roberts. 14 Apr 2010, 10:30pm

At 44, I’m quite past giving a blind fkuk about any of these
    liars.

Each and every one of them is only out for their self.

My local choice is either Lab Con or UKIP as no other candidates
    have come forth.

LAB are liars and have F’d up everything they touched.

Con are Liars as they will suck up to anything to get their greedy claws in to the trough.

UKIP are basically the BNP without the race card.

F the bl@@dy lot of them.

I’m voting for my own personal excretion, as it makes more sense.

  21. Simon Murphy 14 Apr 2010, 10:33pm

“LGBTory now has hundreds of supporters and numerous branches up and down the country and is working with more than two dozen LGBT Prospective Conservative MPs to bring about the change this country so desperately needs.”

    Hundreds of supporters?

There are millions of gayfolk in Britain.

Nice that the idiots at LGBTory have managed to scrape together a handful of people.

LGBGTory is the idiotic group of self-hating Gay Uncle Toms who oppose marriage equality and think that it’s perfectly fine to be allied to an extreme right homophobic party in Poland, and that the British Home Secretary believes in illegal discrimination against gay people.

  22. dear sister mary or clarence or whatever, u sound like leadership of north korea, spreading same pr s**t we get from your dear leader cameron, get life sister, or at least get out more, then you realize that majority of lgbt will vote anything other then tory

  23. John(Derbyshire) 14 Apr 2010, 10:55pm

If its not in the manifesto- then you can bet your life it WON`T happen. And the excuse they`ll give is-“well-it wasnt in our manifesto”

  24. Patrick James 14 Apr 2010, 10:55pm

    Sister Mary clarence writes:

I think you’re still find that the Tories are well ahead

    No they are not.

and I’m damned sure the majority of gay people fully intend to still vote Tory.

    No they don’t.

  25. Patrick James 14 Apr 2010, 10:57pm

    Godwyns writes:

Its a matter of Dignity and Integrity.

    Yes it is.

David Cameron is using the LGBT Conservatives, their sexuality is being used to mask the homophobic activities of the Conservative party.

If the LGBT Conservatives are to retain their dignity and integrity then they should leave the party before the general election. They must not let themselves be used in this way.

  26. Patrick James 14 Apr 2010, 10:58pm

    Andy writes:

latest polls give tories only 6% advantage, not even enough to be biggest party in parliament, and there is still another 3 weeeks to go.

Yes indeed, and as the public scrutinise the Conservative party more and more they see through the sham as Anastasia Beaumont-Bott and David Heathcote have done.

  27. Patrick James 14 Apr 2010, 10:59pm

Vulpus Rex writes about David Milliband:

I might almost feel sorry for him when he loses his job in 22 days time.

I think it is very foolish to be counting the chickens before they are hatched.

  28. Johan Roberts. 14 Apr 2010, 11:02pm

MANIFESTO = Bollocks to suck in the gullible.

  29. Patrick James 14 Apr 2010, 11:12pm

I love this treatment of this classic vid.

  30. Nothing like using a bitter spoilt brat for your own gain.

This is typical of Labour and their ‘slagging’ everyone off. I think most of the country are fed up with it. Another reason they need to go.

  31. Sister Mary clarence 15 Apr 2010, 8:47am

Yeah, that’s really cool Patrick, could you maybe dredge up the one where Chancellor Brown tells us he’s bought and end to boom and bust, which rates second only to the footage of Michael Fish telling everyone that there wasn’t going to be a hurricane the night the worse hurricane since records began decimated the UK.

  32. We’ve had 18 years of Tory crap followed by 13 years of Labour crap, now is the time to give someone else a chance to change things, and that chance should go to the Lib Dems! Hopefully the majority of voters will think the same, I would actually prefer a hung parliament than Tory or Labour getting a majority in this election.

  33. Squidgy: you say: “This is typical of Labour and their ‘slagging’ everyone off.”

But you work for the Tories don’t you?

And you, are not even able to offer a single reason to vote for the Tories other than ‘They are not Labour’.

  34. Any commitment to LGBT rights requires policies and action to back it up. The Tories could not even manage to get their two ideas into their actual manifesto. So much for David Cameron’s “heart and soul” being into gay equality.

These articles are excellent and show Cameron up for who and what his party stands for:
    http://johannhari.com//2010/04/09/if-youre-looking-for-class-war-you-can-find-it-in-david-camerons-policies

  35. Here is a challenge to any gay, lesbian, bi, or trans person who is the slightest bit inclined to vote Tory on May 6.

Select just six ordinary typical Conservative voters who are not particularly well-known to you.

Visit each one, look them in the eye, and then ask the following question:

    1. “Do you think that a Christian person, a Catholic person, a Jewish person, a Muslim person, or a person of any faith, should have the right on the grounds of their religious beliefs to refuse to provide goods or services to gay, lesbian, bi, or transgender people?”

When they have answered this question, double-check their attitude by asking this second question:

    2. “Do you think that a Christian person, a Catholic person, a Jewish person, a Muslim person, or a person of any faith, WHO IS RUNNING A HOTEL, MOTEL, OR GUESTHOUSE, should have the right on the grounds of their religious beliefs to refuse to give a double-bed to two persons of the same sex?”

If they answer something like “Yes!” or “I think people should have the right to make up their own minds on this”, then ask them a third and final question:

    3. “If YOU were running A HOTEL, MOTEL, OR GUEST-HOUSE and I turned up with a friend of mine OF THE SAME SEX AS ME and we asked you to give us a room with a double-bed, would YOU give us the the double-bed with dignity or respect or would you give some kind of excuse and tell us to find somewhere else?

Do not vote Tory if you have not performed the above test.

  36. Sister Mary clarence 15 Apr 2010, 11:25am

James – blimey the Tories won’t fund crossrail. Good!! Public spending to easy a recession only works when there is the prospect of being able to repay monies borrowed to do so.

However we are not in that situation

We are in a situation where economic recovery is still some way off yet it seems so borrowing money you can’t pay back is potentially disastrous.

It very much follows the same lines the government have taken though is regard to regulating personal debt – if you could sign the form, then clearly you were fit to borrow the money.

In the real world though, at some point, you do have to pay your debts. Although strictly speaking it appears that NuLabour are going to get off without paying theirs again when they lose the election, leaving bad old Tories to sort out the mess again.

  37. Sisteer Mary Clarence, you say the polls all show that gays are all in support of the Nasty Party. I don’t T H I N K so!

PinkNews has been pushing the Tories down our throats for weeks.

PinkNews has been misrepresenting the Tories, for example, they reported that Peter Tatchell had said the Tories were offering us a “half-way house” when Peter had said no such thing. Peter had said that with regard to historic gay sex offences the Tories were offering ONLY a half-way house.

Similarly, given PinkNews’s bias to the right-wing, you’ld have to be NUTS to believe the results of their polls!

  38. I hate myself for having considered voting for the tories for a split second. They are a bunch of bigots, and nothing will change their connection with the past. To change that, they’d have to move themselves and everything to another party, like Labour ou LibDems. But they never change, that’s the reason they atract so many bigotted voters.

  39. Sister Mary clarence 15 Apr 2010, 2:30pm

Sally, I wasn’t really factoring pink news polls into anything.

    Check the proper polls!!

  40. Sinister Mary still lying through her teeth: the “proper” polls say: “Three new polls tonight, and still showing a mixed picture.”! (http://www.ukpollingreport.co.uk/blog/). So thanks for lying Sinister Mary – REALLY living up to your name!

  41. The “voter intention” tells a VERY different story to that we hear yapping from Loopy and Sinister, check out the poll of polls:
    http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/blog/voting-intention

It looks as though NOTHING is set in stone, there is EVERYTHING to fight for, and that despite the constant pushing of Cameron on here, support for conservatives is ebbing away.

  42. Sister Mary clarence 15 Apr 2010, 8:33pm

Current polling average shows Conservatives ahead by 7 points on the poll of polls. If Matt you think that Labour are going to pull back from that position you are out of your mind.

The poll of polls average also only gives a topline of what is going on. The undecided and refused voters will be dealt with differently by individual pollsters and this distorts the results when directly comparing.

Each pollster also applies their own different weighting matrix to the results, so weighting on age, social grade and region, some also weighting on previous voting intention. Some of the more big names also then add in a final personalised weighting matrix based on their on sense of public opinion.

Please don’t try to be all cocky Matt because you think you’re tripped over some crystal ball that tells you all you need to know about how the election will of won’t play out. It is a tabloid toy, nothing more.

  43. Get off your London council estate ghetto, Sister Mary Clarence, and go find six Tory supporters who are unknown to you.

  44. I really admire Miliband.
