    10:59 PM — Two weeks ago the Observer published a secret recording of Conservative shadow home secretary Chris Grayling where he appeared to support bed and breakfast owners turning away gay couples. Now Mr Grayling has said he does not support bans and that he now supports gay adoption.

  • Police arrest two men over Southampton gay murder 3

    6:04 PM — Police investigating the murder of a gay man who was found on Southampton common have arrested two men in connection with the murder. Nigel Price, 58, was found on Southampton Common on Saturday November 14th 2009 with severe head injuries. He had been at a local pub the night before and police believe he was attacked before 9.30pm.

    5:59 PM — It has emerged that no one is to be charged by police in relation to the homophobic attack on gay trainee policeman James Parkes. Mr Parkes suffered fractures to his skull, cheekbone and eye socket during the October 25th attack, in which he was set upon by up to 20 youths in Stanley Street, part of Liverpool's gay village. He had been leaving Superstar Boudoir with his boyfriend and friends.

    4:49 PM — At a Labour party event today, Foreign Secretary David Miliband was joined by two former Conservative party activists who quit the party over its treatment of gay rights and the apparent support by Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling for bed and breakfast owners to ban gay couples. David Miliband said: "The Tory head and the Tory heart are at odds. The head tells them that the world has changed, that they have been rejected at three elections because they were seen as the nasty party. The heart tells them something different."

    2:42 PM — Mike Huckabee, who ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008 and is a possible candidate for 2012 has said that allowing gays and lesbians to marry is as inappropriate as legalising incest, polygamy and drug use. He also condemned gays adopting saying "children are not puppies."

    12:54 PM — A pair of gay swans have set-up nest at Abbotsbury Swannery in Weymouth, and despite their long relationship, staff say they are liable to have hissy fits when they fight with each other.

    12:24 PM — Britney Spears apparently had a gay old time at the annual gay White Party held in Palm Springs, California over the weekend. The pop star made an unscheduled appearance at the close of the event to support the signer Agnes who won the Swedish Pop Idol series in 2005.

But the policy document does not contain a manifesto commitment to introduce full gay marriages that Nick Clegg told PinkNews.co.uk readers he supported.
