    The law, quite rightly, makes a distinction between murder and manslaughter. Your attitude towards this sad case is positively biblical and I for one just can’t see the connection between the government and the sentence imposed in this case.

    Firstly – it was manslaughter not murder. Murder requires premeditated intent. Nasty as this person sounds it would seem that he did not intend to kill his partner. Therefore the sentence seems correct.

    Secondly – it is quite s stretch (even for you) to try to blame the court’s decision on the Labour government.
