  1. It was FAAAAABULOUS! Happy, friendly, LGBT people from all walks of life, and, as the Pride Day festival in Castle Park coincided with the Bristol Bike Festival, burly bikers and their families joined in with excellent humour. The tiniest one, a toddler with golden curls and a great sense of rhythm, was much photographed outside the Energy Boys caravan, strutting his stuff, under the indulgent, happy smile of his biker parents.
That is to say: everyone LOVED it and had enormous fun!
Pride is not just for us, it is an opportunity for straight people to see us in the best possible light: as the happy, friendly, big-hearted people we really are. Nothing combats homophobia more than Pride and I have not heard of a single unpleasant incident.
It took a huge number of people-hours to get the week of excellent art, music, comedy and film, not to mention the Pride Walk and Pride Day festival organised, dozens of people worked undefatigably and hundreds more did their bit to make this the first of many Pride Festivals to come. So, from all of us in the City of Bristol:
THANK YOU PRIDE BRISTOL! YOU DONE US PROUD OUR LUVVERS!
See you next year our babbers!!
