Good! I am pleased to hear that homophobic bullying like this is not being tollerated by the courts. I hope a bench warrant was immediately issued for the arrest of the other coward who failed to turn up to court.

    Should have been longer!

(pity that Pink News does not have any pics of British jail cells. Britain has solid doors and not the open bars arrangement like America…which is what this photo is of)

  2. Please that there has been an outcome via the sentence though I do have to stress that if this thug made his victim believe he had a knife he should have been given 5 years. Oh and no parole!

‘One more unto prison dear friends’, (though not for long enough, forsoothe)

  4. And that’s how its done!

I love how lawyers always try to make a case of “not being in his right mind” or “not having intent to commit the crime” does that mean I can run someone down in my car and as long as I say “well I didn’t intend to run them down, it just happened” then all is fine and dandy?

Im glad the court just cut though the verbal diarrhea and said “you robbed, verbally abused and threatened with violence, here are your consequences, have a nice day!”

To be a homophobe, or not to be a homophobe, that is the question; whether is it nobler in the mind to suffer the sex slings and Arrow shirts of outrageous poofdom, or to take arms against a sea of condoms, and, by up-hosing, bend them….

    What?

Well, anyway, I’m glad to hear they locked him up. Around here most homophobic crimes go unreported, and if/when they are reported they are often not acted upon. So, well done! Let’s hope this acts as a positive influence to others to report these appalling crimes to the authorities.

Perhaps someday we’ll get there… even here in the U.S.

  7. This is an appropriate sentence and it is encouraging to hear about it. I hope this gets publicity and acts as a warning to other thugs.

  8. UNfounded ,violent , Eternal hatred, and,Misanthropy shoud be u p r o o t e d ,condemned and convicted ,as, destroying civilization and as the darkest wickedness of human evolution ,hence .the antagonist counteracts love, the creator of life and cosmos.

“Appropriate sentence?” “Should be longer?” If comments like these are being said, with the knowledge of just this one sentence, then I think some people here really need to get real. 2 1/2 years for this? Pfft, people get away with much less, for far worse crimes.

This sentence was the result of many previous offenses snowballing, not just this one instance. The bully has always been a trouble maker, and I guess this was the final straw.
