Boyzone’s TV tribute to Stephen Gately
Boyzone are to host a special hour-long memorial show dedicated to their late bandmate Stephen Gately.
The one-off programme will be screened on ITV in the spring and has been described as “upbeat”.
It is expected to show special performances, collaborations and the last unseen material recorded by Gately before his death in October.
The singer died aged 33 from an undiagnosed heart condition which led to fluid on his lungs. He was on holiday with his civil partner in Majorca when he died.
Boyzone manager Louis Walsh will appear in the show. He said: “Stephen would be delighted to have a night dedicated to him. I know he’ll be watching down on us all on the night a big smile on his face.”
