High street retailer WHSmith will no longer stock gay men’s magazine Attitude.

The monthly gay magazine, which is Britain’s biggest, announced the news today.

A statement said: “Attitude will no longer be available in WHSmith on your high street. You will still be able to get your favourite read at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, WHSmith Travel outlets, Waitrose, Asda, MMRG (Martins), Morrisons, the Co-Operative and all good independent retail newsagents, who have all demonstrated great support to Attitude magazine by expanding the number of outlets Attitude is now available in.”

Although no reason for the change has been given yet, PinkNews.co.uk has been told it was the magazine’s choice to stop selling copies in WHSmith.

A WHSmith spokeswoman said: “The situation is that we are in the middle of commercial negotiations with the publisher.”

The award-winning magazine was launched in 1994 and is published by Trojan Publishing.
