When we lived in Wales-admittedly a few years ago now- we had loads of trouble with local youths-lots of homophobic abuse and low level violence and threats aginst us-and sadly it was the local police who just “didn`t want to know”. Their attitude at that time was very homphobic-and they were actually part of the problem.
The police in the rural area where I live are very good. North Wales Constabulary. I’ve found them to be helpful, friendly, accepting and very responsive.
Wish I could say the same for the general population in this particular little bit of rural Gwynedd, though…. :-(
