Boyzone’s next album and single will feature the last vocals recorded by Stephen Gately before he died.

The singer died in October from an undiagnosed heart condition and this will be the band’s first release since his death.

The single Gave It All Away will be released on March 1st, with an album titled Brother going on sale a week later.

Gave It All Away was recorded last summer and Gately sings the opening line: “I will learn to live before I die.”

The video features unseen footage of Gately and the band, which Ronan Keating described as “incredibly raw”.

Keating said: “There’s a nice scene of us four ‘brothers’ sat around a table … with Stephen’s favourite picture hanging up behind us.

“It’s us reminiscing about the good times and the laughter.”

Director Phil Griffin shot the footage as a “fly on the wall”.

Keating added: “We wanted the footage to be as truthful and honest as possible based on how we were feeling and were reacting during the making of the video on that day.”

Gately died aged 33 while on holiday in Majorca with his civil partner Andrew Cowles. He came out in 1999 and was the first member of a boyband to do so.
