So the arch homophobe in Prada claims that gay marriage is an attack on creation? Hmmmmmmmm, a bit rich from a hypocrite and bigot who doesn’t even allow his clergy to marry, probably one of the most unnatural ways to live. This cult has NO MORAL AUTHORITY to make absurd judgments given its disgusting history of paedophilia for the last millenium.

Justin Hafey, I was once a cathlolic but now an atheist. You make a very good point when you said that Britain only has civil partnerships while three catholic countries, Belgium, Spain and Portugal have full marriage rights for gay people, not to mention Mexico City. Point taken. About time that changed in the UK. Lets see how really committed David Cameron is to equality by introducing a bill to do just that, go one better than Labour. Then we’ll know how genuine he is. Don’t hold your breath though.

I myself used to be a catholic, when I came out and began to realise the abhorrant truths about the pope and the catholic institution I could no longer allow myself to be even associated with such a vile sect, i dont understand how anybody can continue to support an organisation that has commited so many acts of evil in its time and still continues to do so. The way i see it is if I had to continued to be a catholic my hands would be dripping with just as much blood as the evil ratzinger because after all the only reason he weilds so much power is because he has followers who identify hemselves as catholic. The whole concept of a liberal catholic is like saying black is white. If you where to ask the pope on his opinion of such he would probably condem you to the gates of hell along with the rest of us, the popes word is that of God how dare anybody have the audacity to question….please

just been reading about what the pope said about gay people,I mam a catholic and i also believe in free speech and a free democracy where people can act the way they want without breaking the law,and i dont mean the 10 commandments.we are all different in our beliefs which means that they can be acted on.The gay movement is strong in britain and hopefully get stronger.but im also a crossdresser and worry about how we will be treated

Free speach must be allowed everyone has a right to an opinion as long as it doesn`t go too far and incite hatred

I support gay rights and freedom and I am against all forms of homophobia yet I am still a cathoilc and there are many more like myself

The notion that world poverty could be solved by a redistribution of wealth has been around for thousands of years.

Human greed works against such justice because one person’s gain represents another person’s loss, and there appears to be no end to persons who want just a wee bit more than another.

Another approach to solve poverty is through education which in fact does cost a great deal of money.

Did anyone see the Sarah Silverman piece on Youtube where she was advocating her idea for an end to world poverty.

Her idea was simple – sell the Vatican.

If Ratzi was to sell all the priceless treasures in the Vatican and donate it to poor nations then there would certainly be enough finance to make a serious impact on poverty.

The priests and bishops could continue there work from a block of council flats in suburban Rome. Everyone would be a winner.

The catholic church built the best churches (and why wouldn’t they – they have more money than ‘god’ – no matter how poor the neighbourhoods they operated in, they were always the rich). Old catholic churches make the best renovated pubs and clubs. They are still places of congregation once renovated, but it’s a good type of congregation.
