That said, it is easy to understand why people would regard her appointment as tokenistic, considering Obama’s steadfast refusal to honour his pre-election promises to lift DADT and DOMA.
it will be seen at the end of his term whether her appointment was part of the whole thrust towards “queer” rights, or whether she’s been used to cover his shortcomings.
I fear he will be a one-termer: if he loses his liberal backing he hasn’t got a majority

Notice how Focus on the Family pipe up every time that someone from the LGBT community does well or our rights are acknowledged? It didn’t surprise me to learn that they are a Christian group… That just about says it all, doesn’t it?
