I think this needs a BBC Talking Point: “Should homophobic leaders face execution” :-|

Britain is one of Malawi’s biggest international aid donors.

If these 2 men are convicted then how do we ensure that Britain stops funding Malawi’s fascist regime.

Or at least ensure that the moronic, backward, bigotted, hateful government of Malawi do not get a penny of money from Britain and that only agencies which are committed to equal rights for all people (including gays) receive funding.

Britain should not be funding fascism in Africa. Simple as that.

If Malawi doesn’t like it then too bad!

Bradshaw, Bryant: poster boys whenever Labour wants to show its commitment to diversity. They ought to be pointing out that pink pounds shouldn’t be syphhoned off into homophobic regimes (nor should anybody else’s pounds)

I fear this couple have already had the trial and sentence by media and public opinion will rule these men will be shown as message to all gay people in the country.

I am totally against the ease at which the UK has for immigration rules and feel it should be a lot tougher and whilst I know Tiwonge anbd Steven may be seen acting for all gay people in Malawi, I couldn’t think of two men who need and deserve a hand from the UK and offered immigration so that they can live the life they wish to lead.

Malawi is a soveriegn state and a christian nation hence we do not condon such nonsense. As blasphemous as it is. Malawi will therefore not accept such rubbish just because of donations from UK!!!!!!!!!! I believe other countries with moral respect and christian values will support Malawi. So please people hold your peace!!!!!
