New rights for trans people in Pakistan 2
3:40 PM — The Pakistan Supreme Court has ordered the government to allow trans people the right to a distinct gender. The court said that trans people, known as hijras, should be able to get national identity cards showing their gender as hijras.
First lesbian US marshall confirmed 3
3:10 PM — The first openly gay US marshall has been confirmed. Minneapolis assistant police chief Sharon Lubinski was confirmed on Monday as the US marshal for the Minnesota district.
Gay man shot dead in Washington DC
3:05 PM — Police are appealing for information after a gay man was found shot dead in his car in south-east Washington. Anthony J Perkins, 29, was found dead on Sunday near an airforce base on 4th Street when police responded to reports of gunfire.

2:12 PM — A gay couple in Malawi who held a wedding ceremony last weekend have denied charges of gross public indecency. Tiwonge Chimbalanga and Steven Monjeza had a traditional ceremony in the south African country on Saturday.
