Thomas above must be a friend of the coup leaders, the real dictators. Zelaya was elected by the people of Honduras, and he couldn’t be reelected, even with the referendum he was proposing.
Honduras: Investigate Murders of LGBT People
Dec 16, 2009
The killing of an HIV/AIDS outreach worker on December 14, 2009, is part of a pattern of violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Honduras that seems to have accelerated in the turbulent months since the June 28 coup, Human Rights Watch said today.
“The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) stands in solidarity and sorrow with the family and friends of Walter Tróchez, as well as those of everyone killed in these bloody months. The international community must support the courageous activists continuing to defend human rights and LGBT people in Honduras.”
I know exactly where my christmas contributions are going this year and in the future. My nieces and nephews already have everything they could possibly need. A chocolate-covered marshmallow Santa is all they will get from me.
It’s about time we get own heads screwed on right and look at reality in the face. This intelligent young gay activist, Walter Trochez, lost his life fighting for human rights that we take for granted. What’s wrong with this picture?

Did the BBC World Service tell the Murders where to find him?
What a sad loss of a young life. What a brave and dedicated young man. Honduras has lost a hero striving for individual rights and freedoms!
Fact is, he was beaten into pulp by the state police the week before he was shot down. My deepest sympathy for Walter’s family and friends.
How can such things be happening, and why???
Thanks for reporting this, Jess.
a young man dedicated to freedom would not support Zelaya. A want to be dictator ousted by his OWN party and the supreme court of his own country.

And the influence of “The Church” in Honduras cannot be understated. This is a shocking insight into the reality of gay life in Honduras.
Unacceptable.

Horrible may he RIP and may the people who committed this sickening and cowardly action pay the ultimate price: their life.
