Why would it require changing his character any more than any other life-changing experience? Making a character undergo emotional development is part and parcel of a decent tv programme, isn’t it?

Usually I despise Emmerdale with its contrived plots, wooden acting, patronising storylines ranging from the incredibly mundane to the laughably outlandish, etc. but I now closely follow this plot without missing a heartbeat. I know it’s superficial to be watching it for its gay plot but there aren’t many shows boasting positive LGBT messages out there. Throw in the fact that I can relate to Aaron – having been in a similar situation before – and the fact that I find myself strangely attracted to him, and you’ve got a winner. Hopefully we will see more of Danny Miller (not in that way, you perverts!) and his character grow and develop maturely. Until then though all I can say is this – go Emmerdale!

Liz, lesbian plots are dull (Sonia and the nurse in Eastenders etc). And beside lesbians always turn hetero/ bi anyway (Debbie/ Jasmine in Emmerdale)
