One of my friends in transitioning and I have recently met a number of transgender people and I am sure learning a great deal. We had a ceremony of remembrance and then had a dinner together. It was wonderful that people from all walks of life and all genders came together for the evening. I have been very moved by the stories that I have been told by transgender people and I agree the media should be doing more to educate the community about such issues. What they had to say made me come home and Google to learn more. I just want to say that it is indeed horrific what some self-righteous bigots will do to their fellow human beings - but it's incredibly sad that the mainstream media didn't see fit to cover it.
