congrats! i enjoy his work on the TV show Bones, and i’m very happy to hear he’s out, proud and helping others. awards like this are not for the ‘perfect’ person. there is no such thing as a perfect person. there are only people that do good for others, people that do harm to others, and those that sit at home and complain about both. good job, Stephen. thank you.

This is a smart move by GALHA! Look at what happened after that Boy Zone guy died. Fry made a comment and 22,000 people complained.

I sure he will be “very useful” for making comments in the future?

“The star was presented with the honour … which said it was given in recognition of his long record of standing up both for LGBT rights and for wider humanist values.”

There were lesbians and gay men in the camps – a point often airbrushed out of history. He had the opportunity to highlight it at a significant ceremony of rememberance in front of the monarch, the (then) PM, and the watching world. He did so for his jewish family background, he didn’t for his exterminated gay predecessors.

I don’t decry this failure, so much as the award and its citation.

So what Mihangel. Its not like he’s ever ignored or denied us gay people being persecuted & executed during the holocaust. He’s not a hypocrite in this regard, many others are.
