Buenos Aires issues first gay marriage licence following last week’s court ruling 6
11:57 PM — Following the ruling by a judge in Buenos Aires last week, an Argentinian gay couple were today granted a same sex marriage licence. Jose Maria Di Bello and partner Alex Freyre argued that a ban on gay marriage violated the constitution of Argentina.

7:13 PM — Former Miss California Carrie Prejean has another seven sex tapes and 30 nude photos, it has been reported. Religious groups are now severing all ties with her.
America’s biggest gay media company forced to close
6:15 PM — Window Media LCC, the largest publisher of LGBT newspapers and websites in America, has closed down. The company owns the Washington Blade, Southern Voice, David magazine and the South Florida Blade.

4:28 PM — A 21-year-old man was due to appear in court today charged with the murder of Destiny Lauren, a trans woman. Lauren was found dead at her Kentish Town home earlier this month.

12:20 PM — A government advisor has said that lesbians make better parents than straight couples. Professor Stephen Scott told a meeting last week that research showed children raised by lesbians tended to have higher aspirations.

11:41 AM — A string of concerts by Jamaican reggae star Beenie Man have been cancelled after organisers faced a wave of protest from gay rights groups. Big Day Out said his appearance would "mar" the festival for many people.
EHRC to ask MPs to include gay census question 19
11:26 AM — The Equalities and Human Rights Commission will ask MPs this week to include a question in the 2011 census on sexual orientation. The government has previously ruled out the question, saying it would be too controversial.
Stephen Fry wins gay humanist award 6
11:07 AM — Gay broadcaster Stephen Fry has won an award for his services to humanism and gay rights. The star was presented with the honour on Saturday by the Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association.
