Although I think she may be suffering from selective memory. I knew she was gay years before she was with Ellen. It’s on record that Portia had a 4 year relationship with Francesca Gregorini (Ringo Starr’s stepdaughter) before she met Ellen.
Perhaps she was not ‘officially’ out but it wasn’t ilke her lesbianism was a secret.
Very true Simon. I knew of her lesbianism too and thought it was great to have another lesbian in the mainstream. Kudos to her for bringing to the forefront the fears society instills in some people who just want to be honest and live openly.
