Trans woman murdered in Kentish Town, London

A trans woman has been found murdered at her home in Kentish Town in north-west London.

The 29-year-old woman, named as Destiny Lauren, was found by police at her flat in Leighton Crescent at 00.55am on Thursday morning.

She was taken to the Royal Free Hospital but was pronounced dead at 1.35am.

A police spokesman confirmed that Lauren was a sex worker.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out but a cause of death has not yet been announced.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested and bailed pending further enquiries.

Police say they are keeping an open mind regarding a motive but are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
