  1. Typical. People work hard all year for that award, making disparaging comments against LGBT people and she swoops in at the last minute and claims it for herself!

  2. Simon Murphy 6 Nov 2009, 12:30pm

“If any government tries again to introduce a piece of legislation as offensive and demeaning as Section 28, Stonewall is here and we will fight back.”

Oh we’re not worthy! I mean how lucky are we that we have an organisation which doesn’t believe our relationships are worthy of legal equality fighting on our behalf.

Stonewall fights the fights that REALLY matter – like campaigning to have number plates which read ‘Faggot’ and ‘Dyke’ banned.

  3. Can’t help thinking that this nomination is giving this bigoted cow more publicity that she deserves?

  4. Simon Murphy 6 Nov 2009, 1:58pm

Stonewall trivialises homophobia by giving free publicity to Moir. Moir is a nasty witch for sure but she is also a self-publicist who will revel in this award.

Then again Stonewall represents nobody except its own members. It certainly does not represent or speak on behalf of the LGB population.

  8. yeah she deserved it. but summerskill deserved a nomination for refusing to even consider pushng for equality for us. your a joke, stonewall.

  9. Brian Burton 6 Nov 2009, 5:47pm

Keith, I am nearly an old age Pensioner dear!

  10. Ah, always enjoy Ben Summerskill’s graceful wit… he doesn’t do that full on earnestness that you get from so many charity bosses, think he’s a bit of a treasure.

… and now back to the inevitable Stonewall bashing… do we have anything good to say about them? Or are they completely filled with evil?

  11. Dorothy Bagwash 6 Nov 2009, 6:55pm

Like most people here I agree the Bigot of the Year should have gone to Stonewall themselves.

  12. Brian Burton 7 Nov 2009, 7:13am

Peter Stokes, Please explain what was sleazy about Stephen Gatley?

  13. Kate: “… and now back to the inevitable Stonewall bashing… do we have anything good to say about them? Or are they completely filled with evil?”

Er, yep. They are totally unscrupulously, back-patting leftie scumbags, who follow this governments ethic of being people-focussed, whilst lifting their wallets.

If the LGBT community in the UK had any power at all – which you don’t – you would force “Stonewall” to change its name and try to restore to the name of Stonewall the dignity it deserves.

But you won’t, because you’re too busy quibbling about useless news items and backstabbing one another on the international stage of Pinknews.

You guys are pathetic and you are giving the rest of us a bad name.
And you couldn’t care less. Have another beer.

  15. Brian Burton 8 Nov 2009, 6:36pm

Do you really think Jan Moir gives a flying toss about a bunch of screaming poofters like you lot?? ‘me too’ but I don’t give a flying toss either.

  16. Dorothy Bagwash 8 Nov 2009, 8:56pm

Jean-Paul don’t be so sure, the UK’s LGBT community has been waking up to Stonewall’s failings over recent years, the Trans communuty have been very active (niot just online) in doing just what you suggest.

Remember the huge protest last year actually OUTSIDE the Stonewall awards AGAINST Stonewall?

The only problem being is that you are right, the community doesn’t really have much of a voice other than Stonewall, but there are other groups fighting for the same causes if not more and individuals such as Peter Tatchell who are genuine and not in it for the fame or glory yet Stonewall’s might is so enermously huge Stonewall will drown out everyone else, they are backed by the major corporations, celebrities, the media and politicians of all colours.

  17. Most padephiles are gay said the priest?

I thought most paedophiles were priests. And obviously the rot goes all the way to the top, given that the freaks of the RC church – our own taliban – hid their crimes for decades, and just moving the priests to locations where they were unknown, and so they could continue their crimes.

    Dorothy Bagwash,
Anti-Stonewall Corrispondent from the Dorothy Bagwash site. I clicked on to DBs site and found it pretty good…so good for you DB. Luck be a lady tonight, Luck be a lady tonight!…’Ant you heard of ‘GUYS’N DOLLS’ out there in Pink Land?

  19. What a shame; I wanted the Arch Homophobe of Rome to win the award; he’s a much bigger and influential (worst luck) than any two bit journalist!!

  20. So Ben Bradshaw’s the first openly gay man to reach cabinet level? Er… what about Chris Smith?

  21. Jan Moir is grat and was spot on with her write up.
Just the poofs dont like the truth. Too much PC in this country.
