This is so weird. I enjoy listening to Vernon Kay on Saturdays, WHEN I remember he is on Radio 1. He is a brilliant presenter. This morning I was listening to the horrible Chris Moyles, his awful cronies, and dreadful show, and wishing the BBC woould replace him with Vernon Kay. Now it looks like this fairy’s wish will come true! Move over Moyles…the gays don’t like you!

I haven’t listened to Radio one since 1981, when I left school and had a CHOICE about what radio station to listen to. Radio One was ‘cool’. I keep hearing about Moyes all over the place. he sounds like a noise nuisance.

Me too. He comes across as a smug, self-satisfied man who thinks being rude is funny. He’s hugely over-rated in my opinion.

I love the way he labels himself as “different”. I could go into a pub and find idiots talking crap and thinking they’re funny any night of the week. All his ‘jokes’ are pathetic and about as funny as TB. I’m glad he’s leaving.

WTF is the BBC doing with our money when a moronic DJ gets paid this sort of loot?

I know “top” entertainers (including footballers) get paid insane money, but a twattish DJ? WHat sort of society have we created where the totally non-productive get paid more in a year that most people get paid in 20?!

As a result of this ethos and current management strategies, gay people who work for the BBC demean themselves and are known in certain circles as 'housegays' for this reason. Anybody who listens to Chris Moyles regularly would know that he is not homophobic, he just isn’t afraid to take the mickey out of people. The banter between him and Aled the producer who’s gay can be very funny. Some of the things he says are designed to get a reaction but not to upset people. Please don’t start siding with the Daily Mail.

Not that I’m a radio 1 listner, but when Chris Moyles first started on Radio 1 that was when I started to go off it. The guy has a personality like a cross between Richard Littlejohn and Alan Partridge. When I first heard his schtick on his afternoon show, where he was settling his petty personal scores on the air without a hint of irony I knew he was a prize jerk, and it put me right off him.
I’m sure someone will be stupid enough to take him on, but so long as he doesn’t just move to Radio 2 like all the other Radio 1 DJs I’ll be a happy bunny.
