A Thatcherite, neoliberal freemarketeer (and gay) friend of mine (yes, we had big rows!) was appalled when he found that his local Tory party members weren't just rooting for the global capitalism he loved. And I love how indignant he is at the Daily Mail's homophobia. It's not as if they've been printing anti-gay articles for decades, is it?
