A former soldier who attacked a woman after she invited him home for sex has been jailed for three years.

Mark Wardley, of Crosthwaite Court, met the woman in a nightclub in Workington, Cumbria, in January.

She invited him back to her home for sex. Wardley, who was drunk, accepted, despite being gay.

According to the News & Star, they prepared to engage in what Carlisle crown court described as “unusual practices”. Wardley interrupted the sex session by putting his clothes back on.

He then went downstairs and became agitated, talking about life in the Army and his difficult relationship with his parents.

When the woman tried to talk to him, he tore open her shirt, pushed her over and knelt on her chest before biting it. The prosecution claimed he said: “Oh, you like it rough, do you?”

The women threw him out of her house but he stole her car keys and crashed the vehicle into a wall.

Wardley, 22, admitted to actual bodily harm and to aggravated vehicle taking without consent.
