  1. Where are is the federal protection against the gay panic defence Obama? If this defence can work one way why not the other way around as well? why not heterosexual panic. I hope Robert Hannah is beaten to death in prison before he is released so some justice is served.

America land of the not so free LGBT!

I’m surprised LGBT Americans haven’t had a Riot by now.

  3. Incredible. It’s an incitement to lynch-law.

  4. It really doesn’t seem long enough.

  5. I’ve just read a news item about a man in Newcastle jailed for 18 months just for giving a 3 year old child cigarettes. Stupid thing to do, but surely less of a crime than beating a man up even if he didn’t die as a result? And what the heck is a ‘gay panic defence’? If it’s what I think it means, then that is utterly disgusting.

  6. 180 days? less than half a year? someone please tell me differently, does that say 180 days? guy killed, dead, whole life gone and this scum wont even miss a year of his pathetic life not evn half a year, disgusting, you know why the justice system fails because no one will be in jail for a significant amount of time, it’s more like a bed and breakfast.

  7. 6 months for a life! Crazy.

  8. Let’s hope that many prisoner’s grope Hannah’s groin and buttocks during his stay in jail!

  9. Polanski’s case is of no relevance. The sentence is reprehensible, but has no bearing on Polanski’s case. Or are you saying Child rape is acceptable?

I stood on the steps of my nation’s capitol this past weekend as an American LGBT man, and I stood for the victims of hate crimes that have not received their justice! 200,000 others agree that too much of our blood has been spilled on our streets, too many families have been forced to bury their children, and too many murderers have been slapped on the wrists by our judicial system for commiting vile crimes against the LGBT community.

LGBT’s from across the world are watching their American brothers and sisters and are awaiting action, are awaiting revolt, are awaiting signs of life; please rest assured that our communities have been rocked by terror and hatred for too long, and that your American brothers and sisters are mobilizing now to end our government’s tyranny towards our community.

A word of advice to so-called Cleggy in the Press who quoted:

“I’m surprised LGBT Americans haven’t had a Riot by now” – Gays already did that in 1969 “the Stonewall riots” – pick up a book called “stonewall” Cleggy in the Press (or whatever your name is).

  12. I can’t believe he only got half a year for unprovoked murder!
America…the land of no justice or rights for gay people

You got that right of the land of no justice as about two years ago a park ranger here while on duty shot a defenseless man twice in the back killing him instantly and a judge sentenced him to six years of probation only. In fact in this country if you kill a wolf who is attacking you, you can get up to thirty years in prison, but if you kill a gay person that is no threat to you, you will serve less than a year in prison. Or kill an alligator that has just killed your child you will get up to twenty years in prison and a fine of ten thousand dollars. But kill a robber who has broke into your house, raped your wife and killed your family and you might be out of prison in as little as 18 months. What this country needs is a good old fashion revolution to end this madness. What GLBT need is to have a coast to coast civil war with riots in every major city whereas billions of dollars of property damage is done to wake up America that we have had enough and now won’t take it any longer. Follow the example of the African Americans and the American Indians back in the old days as some times only violence is the answer. A tooth for a tooth, a death for a death. Some one ought to be waiting when this punk gets out of jail and pull him from his bed in the middle of the night to string him up to the nearest tree. Anybody got a stout rope?

    “Soft on crime indeed”!

If I was the judge, I would sentence him to a minimum of life imprisonment without parole!!!!!

I am against the death penalty in all of its forms!!!!
