    Pathetic!

Gesture politics at its very worst.

This is nothing more than a reward to Obama for being the first non-white president of the USA.

If he’s got any dignity he’ll decline it and tell them where to stick their condescending attempt at patronage.

  3. Is that that the official NuConservative line Justin Hinchcliffe?

I will be sure to share it with our American friends and your constituency!

So the Lib Dems Don’t stand a chance in Tottenham? They do now!

and the NobelPrize for being black goes to….

  5. “In a surprise, Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize” , and I suprased too! First of all, my congrats to our president! Why was I suprased?-Becase it was my wish! Last year , when our teacher from an adult school asked us to write what we would like to do our next president, I wrote – I would like, that he will travel and attend countries in all The World for PEASE! I apologize for my English.

  6. What’s with the nasty responses? He’s done a whole lot better than most Presidents in living memory, and he’s not even done a year yet.

Everyone moans about Bush, they get a half decent replacement, and they slag him off as well. You just can’t please some people.

  7. WHY? He has done nothing, zilch. Nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize closed in early-February, only a fortnight after Obama took office! How could he possibly merit this Prize. It was respected, now it is devalued, a farce.

Mr. Obama’s words this morning will do nothing to assuage the nay-sayers. The remainder of the world will applaud the Committee and the President.

  9. I have nothing against Obama. I’m British, anyway. He isn’t MY President. But he does seem to have got this award based on PROMISES of what he WANTS to do. It might have been more appropriate in 5 years time when he has DONE some of it. It looks like they couldn’t think of anyone to give the award to.

Obama’s done nothing for World Peace – just as he’s done nothing for Gay Rights – he does have a black face though.

  11. Harthacanute 9 Oct 2009, 6:50pm

Barack Obama awarded Nobel Peace Prize for making a lot of people hate America a little less :)

  12. A disappointingly unpleasant combination of fawning and tokenism.

  13. Detectives believe a man who absconded from a Kent prison is preying on members of the gay and transgender communities in Sussex.
Sussex Police said Nigel Rowell, also known as Nick or Nicholas, might have been targeting people for theft through dating websites and newspapers adverts.
Rowell, 44, failed to return to HMP Blantyre House in Goudhurst after being granted weekend release in June.
He was serving a five-year sentence for burglary, theft and deception.
Sussex Police think Rodwell could have been in Worthing, Eastbourne, Hove, Brighton and Horsham in recent weeks. this is important.

  14. the bnp blog trawlers are so pathetic they almost make comments unreadable if they weren’t so funny

  15. We are still fighting a war that is costing the US billions of dollars….Obama uses Air force One as a Phot Op over NYC and then heads off to visit the Queen of England. This deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. Say what?
