Damn these people not making sense, it was hard to follow with these people saying they “stand for marriage” and “protect marriage”, for a while I thought they were in support of gay marriage, I mean there you are an organisation “for marriage” trying to ban marriage, what possible logic or understanding is that though I suppose from our point of view it’s good, who needs an argument against these people when there main ideals don’t match up.

  4. If marriage is such a blessing, surely it should be made available to everybody who wants it, straight or gay, rather than kept as a kind of privileged “closed shop”. You’d have to abandon all that nonsense about it being “*only* for a man and a woman” though (or up to four women, if you follow the Prophet).

On the other hand, if allowing gay people to marry each other is able to destroy the institution favoured by the vast majority, it can’t be in such good shape after all. There’s a youtube video about this that says much the same but more acidly.

  5. Its ironic how mutty claims harrasment and abuse of power on the gay rights groups when all the time, he and his organisation of hate have been lying on the homosexual community and misrepresenting the truth about same sex marriage…Ironic and hypocritical of him…As usual.

  6. This would explain why the anti-marriage lobby have so much clout if they have the backing of the Mormon church. Funny that. Mormons can have as many partners as they want, but want to prevent us even having the one. How hypocritical is that?

  7. Thanks to the investigation and testimony of columnist Danielle Truszkovsky of Florida the court was able to get a flavor of this organization. Brilliant job Truszkovsky, we need advocates like you, keep on digging!

RobN, polygamy was banned among the mormon cult in the U.S. in 1893 I believe. Islam on the other hand, still practices it, something that right wing christian bigots never address.

Stand for Marriage Maine chairman Marc Mutty said the investigation was “harassment” and “an abuse of power”.

Thats funny, you could have said the same about prop 8
