  1. Oh sure he’s tolerant…he doesn’t want a gay minister, how very tolerant of him, clearly as he says, he’s not at all homophobic. Sounds like he’s in self-denial about his prejudices.

  2. I am suprised that Germany does not have any more “out” ministers; we seem to have quite a few and after all the UK is being run by a gay man these days (and no, I am not outing Gordon; YOU know whom I refer……)

Talk about a non-apology…regret for hurting people’s feelings is not the same as taking responsibility for the hateful words in the first place. He flatly stated his opposition to a gay Foreign Minister on the basis of his very sexuality and then tries to paint himself as having no prejudice toward gays. I’m thinking at least a year with a shrink to work through those issues alone….

As Labour go on about the Conservatives sitting with homophobes in the EP, it is worth noting that Labour sit with this group of MEP’s in the EP

“He was quickly condemned by gay groups, who saw the comment as not only homophobic but also grossly insensitive considering the Nazis’ treatment of gays.”

Bit confused by this – is he a Nazi then, or do we just make this connection about anyone German who makes an unfriendly comment about gay people

No 4: Jemma: you say: “As Labour go on about the Conservatives sitting with homophobes in the EP, it is worth noting that Labour sit with this group of MEP’s in the EP ”

interesting. And has this group ever made a facist declaration like the the leader of the Law and Justice Party in Poland (the Tories’s chums) that acceptance of homosexuality will lead to the destruction of civilisation?

  8. Strange. I don’t particularly want heterosexuals in Popstarz – does that make me a Nazi?
