Oh sure he’s tolerant…he doesn’t want a gay minister, how very tolerant of him, clearly as he says, he’s not at all homophobic. Sounds like he’s in self-denial about his prejudices.
I am suprised that Germany does not have any more “out” ministers; we seem to have quite a few and after all the UK is being run by a gay man these days (and no, I am not outing Gordon; YOU know whom I refer……)
Talk about a non-apology…regret for hurting people’s feelings is not the same as taking responsibility for the hateful words in the first place. He flatly stated his opposition to a gay Foreign Minister on the basis of his very sexuality and then tries to paint himself as having no prejudice toward gays. I’m thinking at least a year with a shrink to work through those issues alone….
