“Health professionals reccommend gay men are tested once a year.” Surely everyone who is not in a monogamous relationship should test every year?? HIV is not the ‘gay plague’, it does not discriminate against man, woman or child; gay straight, bi or any other banner you want to put yourself under.
IMHO it should form part of the annual health check with your GP, or perhaps even be mandatory, as that would reduce the stigma associated with it (questions like “so why do you think you need testing?” as I was asked once.)
