Man beaten in homophobic attack

A Somerset man is recovering after being assaulted by three men in a homophobic attack.

Police said he was working by the riverbank at Hankridge Way, Taunton, at 9.30pm on Tuesday, September 8th.

The three men grabbed him from behind and pulled him to the ground. He was then punched and kicked while they shouted homophobic abuse at him.

One of the men was described a white, in his late 20s, with short brown hair. He was wearing white shoes and a blue jumper.

The second was black, in his 20s and about 6ft 4ins tall. He was wearing a red long-sleeved top, baggy trousers and white trainers.

The third was white, about 5ft 9ins tall and also in his 20s. He was wearing black jeans, a white T-shirt and a white cap.
