Gay rights charity Stonewall is seeking the “lesbian, gay and bisexual leaders of the future” to apply for its 2009 Leadership Programme.

The programme, now in its fifth year, encourages gay people to use their own personal experiences when leading others

It involves a two-day residential stay on November 26th-27th at the Ashridge Business School in Hertfordshire.

Kate Scott-Hughes, a performance analyst for the Crown Prosecutions Service and co-chair of their LGBT network, said: “You can be yourself – no meeting new people and having that ‘should I come out’ internal angst-ridden discussion with yourself.

“You get to think about your leadership skills without your sexual orientation getting in the way. I hadn’t realised how liberating that was, and the impact it had on my learning.”

The course costs £795 + VAT per person (if your employer is a member of Stonewall’s Diversity Champions programme) or £1,095 + VAT for non-members.

All participants follow the same application process, and the deadline for applications is September 28. For more information, visit www.stonewall.org.uk/leadership or call Madeline Lasko on 020 7593 1866.
