What? the number of people whose fate hangs on this momentous event and NO ONE can comment? Surely Sinister Mary could have a pop about labour in here? Or Vulpine Rover could bark on about this being Gordon Brown’s fault? No?
Having been to India, and worked in Sri Lanka, I know that the current ban is not only hypocritical (since local men at least will engage in homosexual behaviour) but also aids corruption, since many “sting” operations occur where police exploit local men and boys to trap and rob rich tourists (I heard, and was warned about it by my Indian and Sri Lankan friends).
I hope the Indian government upholds the court decision, so LGBT groups can form without harrassment, and improve the quality of life for ALL Indians.
